Walls
This kitchen wall is in an old Victorian house with 3 meter high ceilings. The walls were in poor condition, but I embraced the age by emphasising the texture. So an antique, aged, layered look was built up. It started with a mixed coloured base of cream, brown and green, a very carefully placed stencil to match the symmetry of the wall lights and chimney columns. It was mathematically planned out, even though it looks random. Then a coarser texture of calcecruda was applied and stained to give an old look. As this was a kitchen it needed to be wipe-proof, so a sealant was added over the top which didn’t affect the matt finish.
